Rajah Samaroo - Cinematographer
Rajah is AFA's Lead Cinematographer. He is a native of Guyana, and graduated from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where he began refining his visual style. Working in the industry as an assistant camera, videographer, and photographer while shooting his own short films, he soon fell in love with the art and craft of cinematography.
For the past 10 years, he has freelanced for companies such as ABC, A&E, Sony Pictures Studio, Discovery Channel, AOL, The Clinton Foundation, Harvard, Patron Tequila, and Dunkin’ Donuts. His passion lies in narrative storytelling, which has translated into a body of work consisting of more than 30 feature and short-length film projects, many of which have received festival awards including best picture and cinematography.
Being very active in the visual arts community, he enjoys both learning from and sharing his knowledge with other passionate filmmakers and students.
